Non Threatening Boys*: Adam Scott, Not Mysterious But Still Important
Make it stand out
Before Severance, to me at least, Adam Scott was kind of just one of those actors who was “in loads of things.” You know, the type where you say, “oh he’s in loads of things”, and then you and your friends struggle to name a single film or show. In fact, my pals used to refer to him as “pointy Tom Cruise” in lieu of knowing his name.
Then Severance happened, and now he’s one of my favorite man actors (mactors, if you will). He’s talented, sure, but it’s more than that – he feels safe, like Andrew Garfield, The Rock, or Pedro Pascal.
Despite loving these actors from afar, I’m always wary of them, in a ‘please don’t be a disappointment like so many others’ way. Are they really Non-Threatening Boys*, or are they just imitating them?
