Love will drive you crazy. You may also literally drive a car off a bridge and jump out of a helicopter for love, if you’re James Bond or Danny Ocean, that is.

While action films and romantic comedies certainly pander to their long-chosen demographics (“action movies are for boys,” “rom coms are for girls”), the genres are much closer – and undoubtedly more successful when merged – than commonly understood to be. 

As far back as I remember, I’ve long been a lover of romance films, whether comedy or drama – from first discovering the genre with “13 Going on 30” and “10 Things I Hate About You,” to my all-time, unwavering favorite, “When Harry Met Sally.”
