Our digital membership platform, The Dollhouse, releases weekly creative content: personal essays, creative writing, photography, art, illustrations, researched features and more. We’re always looking for writers, photographers, stylists, and illustrators join team Polyester! If you have an idea then check out our submissions guidelines below and get in touch.
FOR WRITING SUBMISSIONS
Pitches for writing for Polyester are always open! We especially love arts and culture deep dives, niche personal essays and dissections of popular and internet culture. When pitching please make sure your piece isn’t a topic we have previously covered.
You can send us fleshed out pitches or finalised work, but please include a little introduction about yourself! Please also ensure all work is unpublished and will be exclusive to Polyester.
All written pitches must come with a brief synopsis of your idea (one paragraph), why you are the best person to write this piece and examples of previous writing work.
All complete written essay submissions must be a minimum of 800 words and a maximum of 1000 words and be unpublished elsewhere.
Please include any social media/website links you want included in your credit if your feature is commissioned.
How to Contribute
FOR EDITORIAL SUBMISSIONS
We are able to provide pull letters for stylists and commission shoots as well as take submissions of already completed work.
Please do not send work as WeTransfer. We accept: PDF, Google Drive link, or Dropbox link. Please ensure all work is unpublished and will be exclusive to Polyester. All photo shoots must be a minimum of 10 pictures per editorial.
Please note we prioritise photography that features underrepresented groups and are unlikely to publish your work if it only features skinny, white, cisgendered, able bodied models.
