Our latest zine is here! In collaboration with Squarespace, we are flipping the narrative on the grind mentality and uplifting the views of those forging their own paths in business; who are genuinely finding success in a new landscape of their own making.
What a Way to Make a Living
The world of work has changed forever - not just for those who have championed flexi-working schedules and challenged the norms of traditional office standards - but for young creatives building their businesses. The people creating careers that didn’t exist ten years ago and learning the tools to build their empire as they go, are the future of work.
And while the girlboss era is dead - bye bitch! - what comes next to inspire us to thrive in our practices? We are all still just as passionate about following our dreams, building positive workplaces, rid of the toxicity of older generations. We still want to push for more out of a life set up to make us fail if we don’t adhere to capitalistic standards of work.
This issue is looking to recontextualise this new dawn of gen z and millennials who want to work for themselves without suffering from burning out. Flipping the narrative on the grind mentality that got us here, we’ve collaborated with Squarespace the all-in-one platform for creatives that we used to build our own site, on uplifting the views of those forging their own paths in business and genuinely finding success in a new work landscape of their own making
In these pages you’ll find plenty to laugh at as we consider what made us all start viewing work so solemnly in the first place. Between the glamorous silliness of doing your makeup on the tube commute and the ridiculously high requirements of “making it” in your allotted 24 hours of the day, our ultimate message from this issue is to find the joy in whatever it is you’re pursuing - otherwise what’s the point in it all?
