Make it stand out
Timothée Chalamet’s public persona began somewhere very different to the place we find it in now. After an Oscar nomination for Call Me By Your Name, he was catapulted to fame as the goofy guy-next-door, the kid who’s suddenly hot after summer break. Timothée was full of that unknowable thing that boy crushes are made of, equal parts relatable and unattainable.
His early celebrity was a duality often placed on wunderkind-types: he’s a talent, but god help him, he’s just a boy! Now, at 29, after some critical wobbles (Wonka…), he wants to a) grow up and b) be a real artist. His performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown is an attempt at both things.
