Music Video Premiere! Marachino’s ‘Rosy Boas’ is a Dance Floor Romance
Songwriter, Producer and Creative Director: Maraschino | Director: Serge Neborak | DP/Editor: Alex Tepper | Song co-producers: Ivan Berko and Jackson Walker Lewis | Additional arrangement by Luke Darger
What was the inspiration for the song?
I’ve always been a believer in love as a portal for expansion and transformation, and snakes as symbols of the infinite nature of life cycles, healing, and “unconscious” knowledge. This track is a flirty exploration of the magnetic push and pull of two souls experiencing a love that’s both ecstatic and a bit destabilizing, and the cyclical nature of the connection, spinning out only to come back together again, a little more solid than before.
What was your artistic vision for the music video?
The visual direction took a lot of inspiration from Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” reimagined as a sort of lysergic, red-sequined fever dream. Stanley the Snake and I hit it off pretty well, too.
What do you hope listeners take away from the listening experience?
I’m a Libra Sun, Libra rising, Pisces Moon and a Libra Venus, so I kind of can’t even help myself. I’m just a disciple of love here to spread the good word. We live in an exceedingly mercurial, cynical, materialistic world, and I think opening yourself up to explore the depths of Love is radical and an antidote for all of that. It's liberating and it’s all I’m interested in these days, creatively and personally.
Lyrics:
Sparkling eyes shiny teeth you look good enough to eat/ yeah i like what i see
it all looks good to me / you can’t disarm me
your charm’s lost on me / but you’d look so good on me
a little too good to believe/ just like rosy boas
tango in the sun / spiral in and out of love
until our hearts are one/ our little dance has me caught in a trance
floating in ecstasy with you / right next to me
dreaming together / aeons of pleasure
amor and anarchy / in perfect harmony
