Horse Girls is the Editorial Analysing the Weird Girls from Our School Years

This shoot was inspired by the cultural concept of horse girls. Girls that are maybe considered strange and cast aside in society and groups. We wanted to flip the switch and make horsegirls these badass, stylish, cool women and celebrate the girls and women who do what they want, pursue the interests that drive them, and don’t care about what others think. These images are meant to spread joy and create pleasure and solidarity among women and girls who feel ostracized in some way.

The styling choices echo the sentiments above by dressing the models in clothes that are striking and make them appear strong and confident, but do not cater to the typical male gaze or beauty standards. The posing of the models shows moments of strength, friendship, and introspection.
