Beloved

Realising that I had been arranging opportunities for people to meet over the last years, and setting myself in the role of documenting. Joining them in this somewhat artificially created social happening. Joining them through the lense. Understanding that image making for me was just as much about exploring the social spaces occuring.
Being interested in documenting what happens when us strangers meet, how we connect and meet as humans, and as females. I thought about how I as the observer grasp these changes in attitude and the organic development that happens within this somewhat intimate space. In what way does fashion connect with this element of arranged meetings; could the clothes give another layer to your personality and how you behave as well? Do we always form several personas in public and what do you choose to show over time? Is this all possible to capture through photography during such a short meeting?
Beloved is a visual exploration into the theme of unfolding as an individual with strangers. I hope this series can contribute showing minor details of how wonderful and unique the bond that women immediately create and share together; an unarticulated trust that is truly magnificent.
Beloved is my first "conscious shoot", comprehending deeper meaning and intention behind having people meet in larger groups. I am very eager to continue this ongoing process working with women in larger groups and to see what’s gonna happen next in the future regarding this topic.
