I began casting influencers and ambassadors for shoots instead of models as I became bored of the model packages I was receiving. I feel that a lot of imagery within the fashion industry is representative of many talented creative individuals – photographers, stylists, makeup artists and so on. However, somewhere along the way we forgot that models are creatives too.
I worked together creatively with Orla – a mixed media artist who’s work tackles but also celebrates the creative expression of race, inequality and LGBT – to strip the shoot back to basics. I shot Orla at home, styled by herself and her girlfriend, with minimal makeup and no photoshop. The following imagery is an honest look at the artist at home.
