Gal Pals x Polyester Pride Playlist

In our August playlist, we collaborate with Brighton based queer club night Gal Pals to celebrate their Brighton Pride event.

Gal Pals is a queer dance party, hailing from Brighton via East London, playing music exclusively by women. Created by queer couple Scarlett and Candice, Gal Pals puts queer women and non-binary people front and center for their nights.

Their next event, Gal Pals: Queer Pride, brings together an all women and non-binary line-up of performers, musicians and DJs. Created as an alternative to the largely male (and straight) dominated club nights on offer during Pride, Gal Pals is carving out a space for women and non-binary people where they can feel safe and let loose. Every year Brighton Pride rolls around and LBTQ+ women and non-binary people in the city find that there just aren’t that many spaces for them. This year Gal Pals decided to change that and transform the Komedia into a hub of celebrating our favourite female and non-binary musicians and performers, including Brighton based punk band Top Knot, queer artist and performer Ray Filar and burlesque performer Purrsia Kitt – with Gal Pals DJs on the decks all night long.

Gal Pals plays the best in female fronted pop, rock, hip hop, punk, R&B and party bangers. This playlist brings together some of the biggest Gal Pals queer girl anthems that you’re likely to hear on the night.

Gal Pals Queer Pride is on Saturday 5th August at The Komedia, Brighton.
