Carolyn’s Fingers are a queer-romantica-electro band hailing from London, Cambridge and Madrid. Specialising in electro trippy shoe-gaze — it’s romantic, queer as fuck, dark and glitchy. But also it’s sometimes cute and soft.
A trio, Jess, Chess and Carmen sing about queer love and sex, pain, mental health, myths, goddexes and equality politics. All self taught, the band and produce all the music themselves from their homes. Growing up without queer female/non-binary role models, they see the band as a way to be openly queer and outspoken. Cocteau Twins, FKA Twigs, Frank Ocean, Kelela and Grimes are some of the artists who have inspired the band and have influenced Carolyn’s Fingers sound.
Premiering their newest video on Polyester, Twice Born is a song about queer love and desire. It’s inspired by the myth of the lovers Ampelos and Eleutherios. It’s about queer love and lust and what it must be like for Ampelos to be loved by a god.
